Little Nash

2017 Greenspace Report

Little Nash began roughly 15 years ago with the goal to build up little nash park on the corner of Nash and Edwards. They have had a long and successful history of creating and maintaining these green spaces, as well as planting street trees around the neighborhood. Sue Frew, the group leader, is a savvy property owner on Nash Street whose charisma is immediately obvious to any who may come out to work. This year, Sue led the stewardship and maintenance of Little Nash and managed to put together a solid cleanup. Our goal was to clean out the park on Nash and Edwards, as well as prune the street trees and add a shade tree somewhere on the street. We met our first two goals, and only fell short of planting the tree due to some last-minute changes of plans. Sue’s spirit is infectious, and Little Nash will certainly remain a staple greenspace group in East Rock moving forward.
