Summary

The Watson and Bassett Greenspace group is one of URI's longest standing participants. The group began in 1997 with the purpose of transforming a vacant corner lot into a community park. Since its conception, the park has been maintained by the group's dedicated leader Mr. James Scott, and a handful of community helpers. This year the group focused on stewardship of the park's mature plantings. Mr. Scott worked with the surrounding community's youth to maintain the planting and keep the park clean. In addition, the group planted several shrubs to spruce up a shady corner.
