Summary

The beautification of Waverly Townhouses is led by the camaraderie of a three strong women. The summer's activities started with the stewardship of the memorial garden (dedicated to victims of violence), the garden surrounding the welcome sign, and the front yards planted in 2009. This neighborhood is in transition with an aging population and the arrival of several new families. The opportunity is there to cultivate new friendships through Greenspace. By the end of the summer, the group welcomed two new participants. With greater interest, the group would be inspired to work on every front yard, but a few strong men are needed to plant more trees! However, the manageably-sized tree-like arborvitae planted in one front yard is receiving many admirers.
