Summary
Kat Calhoun and her group of dedicated butterfly enthusiasts have worked to transform this vacant lot from an old dumping site into a native pollinator garden now home to butterflies, bees, and even frogs. This summer, the group stewarded the existing plantings and added even more, making room for new flowerbeds by clearing knotweed and other invasive species. As new visitors stop by the pollinator garden, Kat continues to share her extensive knowledge on the importance of pollinators and how invasive species disrupt these habitats.
