Summary
The Greenspace site on the corner of Orchard Street and Edgewood Avenue was just begun this summer by the Greater Dwight Development Corporation. The group - comprised of teachers, parents, and administrators of the Montessori School on Edgewood as well as neighbors and community members - has made great progress already. First the group covered the barren play area with mulch, which dramatically improved the appearance of the corner lot and also made the area much safer for small children to play. Next the group planted a butterfly garden and three trees along one side of the play area. Many plans are in the mix for the upcoming season and the group is happily looking for more interested volunteers. Soon the site will be a beautiful park meant for both the Montessori children and the community at large to enjoy.
