Summary

Friends of Fairmont Park focused their effort on the butterfly garden and invasive removal at the northern end of the park this season. Many hours went into to weeding and heavily mulching the butterfly garden to protect it from future sod invasion. At the end of the season, the weed and mulch jobs were complete, and flowers, birds, and butterflies filled the space- spectacular! Much progress was also made on invasive removal on the northern perimeter of the park. Dozens of Tree of Heaven and burning bush were removed as well as unquantifiable amounts of Mugwort!
