Summary

This was a successful first year of collaboration between Greenhills Garden Club and URI. The group's overall goal is to slow down traffic on Greenhill Terrace, whether through infrastructure or other means. The Greenhills Garden Club planted 5 street trees and numerous perennials in curb strips this summer, as a long-term traffic-calming measure and community-building activity. The group's efforts were recognized publicly with an article in the New Haven Independent. The New Haven Department of Traffic and Parking has just approved funding for street-narrowing planters to be installed in partnership with URI.
