Summary

The Greenwich Avenue group has been working to beautify their neighborhood between 1st and 5th Street since 2001. Over the years the group has worked on front yards, streetscapes, and public spaces. This year the group took on beautification projects in three public spaces. They transplanted shrubs, cleared invasive vines, and planted perennials in the entrance to Kimberly Field at 4th and Greenwich Ave. At Galvin Park they weeded their flowerbed and planted perennials, involving many children in the park. In their newest public space, the 'green team' as they call themselves worked all the way to the northern end of Greenwich Avenue where it intersects Kimberly Square. A circular planter bed in the traffic triangle formerly filled with Yew stumps was transformed into a beautiful perennial bed, now cared for by the surrounding businesses and community.

Other activity

Removed 6 large Yew stumps and transplanted 4 shrubs
