Summary

Lilac Street had their first summer with the Greenspace Program in 2012. After getting some great ideas for beautifying the block and transforming the vacant corner lot onto the table, the group set in to work. Thanks to many enthusiastic youngsters and a dedicated leader, they planted a beautiful flowering dogwood tree and a lilac tree, two shrubs and 25 perennials. By the end of the summer, the group had made a tangible impact on their neighborhood and have a great future of planting, stewarding, and having fun together ahead of them.
