Summary
This year marked the first assembly of the Upper Westville Community Group. The group came together to beautify a naturalized section of the Yale University Golf Course that fronts the neighborhood. Community members were dedicated to working with Yale University to create a sitting area at the corner of Ray Road and Conrad Drive where neighbors could meet and children could wait for the school bus. In addition, the group worked to minimize dumping on the site by designing a series of buffer plantings along Conrad Drive. Within a short period of time, community members were able to clean up the space, perform a site analysis, develop a design for the sitting area and buffer plantings, and begin construction. A large number of volunteers, young children and adults alike, contributed to the monstrous leaps toward the completion of their project.
