Come devine with Chris Ozyck in East Rock Park from 3-5 pm followed by a Nature Walk with Isa from 5 to 6pm. Bring water and wear layers. Meet outside the East Rock Ranger Station.
You can register for the walk and the devining separately. You don’t have to do both.
Bring work gloves and pruning tools if you have them if you’re coming at 3. If not, URI will provide them.
What’s devining? It is the act of cutting invasive vines that strangle trees.

Urban Resources Initiative, the Friends of East Rock Park, and Fair Haven Community Health Care have teamed up to activate the East Rock Park Ranger Station from 3 to 5pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays and at 10 am on Saturdays, too!
We are waiting on paperwork to officially get started, but want to take advantage of the nice weather this Thursday to get into the rhythm of being there. We’ll launch officially on Nov 5 with a big Open House 10-2 and welcome everyone inside the newly renovated space. Thanks to the City and FERP leader David Shimchick and Barbara Sivigny for getting the space ready!
Bring your high school students to get their community service hours 3-5 pm this Thursday! Come from 5 to 6 pm to go on a Nature Walk with a student from Yale School of the Environment.
