Forest DeVining at Massaro Farm

On Saturday, February 26, Urban Resources Initiative (URI) staffer and native species expert Chris Ozyck, will lead volunteers in an exercise of ‘forest devining.’ Chris will instruct volunteers on identifying and pruning invasive vines that, when cut back, allow a healthy forest canopy in the farm’s woods and wetlands. Take this knowledge with you to help maintain other open spaces or just in your own backyard.

We have a limited number of pruners and loppers; bring your own if you have them. Sturdy, waterproof shoes are recommended. FREE but RSVP suggested so we know you’re coming.
