Summary
This was the second year for the Boys & Girls Club of New Haven as a Greenspace group. The organization underwent leadership transition since last summer that unfortunately precluded them from organizing enough to schedule any workdays. The group began the summer optimistically with goals of planting more trees along the under-canopied block of Columbus Avenue. They were also very interested in making broader community-wide connections to do stewardship with groups such as churches and another Greenspace group. After scheduling and rescheduling the first workday, it was decided to let the organization settle its leadership transition and not pursue the Greenspace group any further this year. There is still great potential for this group to accomplish beautiful restoration, stewardship, and community-building goals in the future.
