2017 Greenspace Report

The Fillmore Street Greenspace group was new this year to the neighborhood of Fairhaven, started by the family of a former URI intern and their neighbors. Although the original hope was to get an expansive and inclusive group of community members to meet and envision a plan for their neighborhood, the actual participation was limited primarily to a single family this season, despite efforts to canvas and recruit. Nevertheless, two trees were planted and lend a fresh and polished look to the streetscape, along with some beautiful perennials planted around them. Hopefully interest in the trees and work done will lead to increased participation next year.
