Summary

Since its creation over five years ago, people have enjoyed sitting quietly, eating lunch, or perhaps even playing a game of chess on the handcrafted bluestone chess board in the beautiful Greenspace on the corner of Edwards and Nash streets. Following their success in transforming a vacant corner lot into a lush community greenspace, the Little Nash greenspace group has planted along Nash Street between Edwards and Lawrence with flowering Kwanzan cherry and crab apple trees. An exquisite Ginko tree was also planted in 2006.<br> Though the group is now an Emeritus Greenspace group, they met seven times this summer to continue their stewardship. They cared for their seventeen street trees and added additional flowering perennials over the summer, including nine vibrantly red daylilies to greet you at the opposite end of the block. From Edwards to Lawrence Street, the efforts of the community have maintained this Greenspace and streetscape as a valuable asset to the whole neighborhood.
