Summary

This summer, lead by an amazing leader Cordalie Benoit, Friends of Wooster Square Group have made great strides adding greenery to their neighborhood. The group started off by focusing mostly on the stewardship of the planting bed and along Court Street and at the corner of Olive and Court Street. Neighbors regularly met to clean, weed, water and mulch the previous planting and also tried to fill out the beds with more lovely plants such as duetiza, daylily, and coralbell. The group further enhanced the aesthetics of Court Street by planting two graceful kwanzan cherry trees and beautiful perennials on the tree beds. The beautification effort on Court Street is a definite success. After all that have been done, the group ends the season with stewardship work on Wooster Square park to make sure it's beautiful and inviting. They spent lot of effort cleaning up the trash at the base of trees. The diligent weeding and a thick layer of mulch help maintain the park in good condition that brings smiles to pedestrians and visitors.
