IRIS youth participated in an afternoon of kayaking and hiking in East Rock Park with URI's Anna Pickett and Leet Miller and Kingfisher Kayaks. 14 students hiked, while 14 students kayaked for an hour each, and then they switched activities. 6 chaperones supported the activities. The high school students were getting to know the local landscape from the summit of East Rock and from the Mill River. Next week, we'll plant a tree in East Rock Park behind Wilbur Cross High School.
