Summary
The Westville Community Nursery School Greenspace group was formed in 2017 with the intention of working with the community surrounding Westville Community Nursery School to beautify the streetscape by planting trees and perennials of all shapes, sizes, and textures to compliment the school’s playground. The group consists primarily of parents and children who attend the school. The goals of the group were to provide shade for children on the playground and make the surrounding neighborhood a more inviting place. After 9 community workdays, the group planted several trees and dozens of perennials, as well as began maintenance by the river walk trail in hopes of clearing the area to make way for butterfly bushes and additional shrubs next year.
