Cherry Ann St.
2016 Greenspace Report
Cherry Ann is an exciting greenspace group to be involved with both in terms of the work that there is to be done and in the level and nature of the community participation. Drawing from the enthusiasm of group leaders Mike Rich and Connie Vereen and the numerous children that participate, Cherry Ann has made tremendous strides in just a few years as the park has been transformed from a dumping site into a valuable community resource. This year, while the greenspace group worked throughout the park, the bulk of the work was focused on clearing the area at the entrance of the park at Cherry Ann St. and expanding and enhancing an entrance garden at the site. The group successfully, cleared the area of trash, removed weedy growth and planted four trees, 19 shrubs and 30 perennials.
