Summary
The Mill River Trail began its first season as a Greenspace program this summer. The group was let by three committed individuals who were particularly invested in seeing the space be actively restored and used. As a new group, this summer was primarily focused on coordination, outreach, and laying the groundwork for future efforts to restore and beautify the trail. A significant amount of energy was invested in coordinating with local officials, property owners, and various community groups presently engaged in the Trail in some capacity. The tasks we were able to accomplish help cement a portion of the trail as an inviting space for the public. Over the course of the summer we were able to hang trail signs, paint a few benches, and clear some portions of the riverbank of invasive plants.
