Summary

This was Rainbow Park's sixth year as an official Greenspace site, but the site has been developing over the past few decades following an informal greenspace model. The group has alternated between active and Emeritus status.<br> This year the group focused on park maintenance for the first half of the summer, particularly garbage cleanup and weeding. During the second part of the summer the group designed and built a patio near the front of the park. The group also planted hundreds of annuals and perennials provided by the city of New Haven. The effect is magnificent and has already successfully drawn in passersby to enjoy the blissful alcove that is Rainbow Community Park.
