Summary

The friends of Scantlebury Park have been an active group since 2004, but this summer they wrote their success story. Their milestone achievements include planting two trees, several shrubs, and perennials, weeding, watering, spreading mulch and starting a wildflower garden to promote monarch butterflies. The group worked flat out in greening around the skateboarding area. The leaders of the park, Roxanne and Jerry proved that they are dependable, and they showed up every week without fail. Roxanne maximized on her strong social skills to strengthen networks with people who came to the park. All these restoration efforts are noticed by kids who play at the splash pad, young adults who play pickle ball, basketball and skateboarders.
