Tell us why you love your tree! What makes it special to you or your community?

Share your story in any creative way you like:

How to submit:

  1. Post your entry on Instagram using #NHVTreeLove, or
  2. Email your materials to Newhaven.uri@gmail.com

Deadline: April 1, 2026

Crowd sourced voting April 1st - April 10th. Help us choose the top 12 photo submissions of New Haven trees to be featured in a 2027 Trees of New Haven Calendar. Winners for the calendar contest will be asked to verify the tree’s New Haven address and announced April 19th. Everyone who participates will get a calendar. Winners will be honored with a T-Shirt at Rock-to-Rock on April 25th.

Urban and Community Forest Master Plan: New Haven Parks is creating a master plan that will serve as a vision for the management of our urban forest for the next 50 years.   • Saturday, April 18 – Tree Run 2026. Register for this fun, free 10K that will feature special and notable trees of New Haven, including some of the #NHVTreeLove favorites. 
  • Sunday, April 19 – Wooster Square Cherry Blossom Festival
  • Friday, April 24 – Arbor Day, several events across the city
  • Saturday, April 25 – Rock to Rock Earth Day Bike Ride
  • Saturday, May 9 – Wake up the Green Tree Planting
  • Saturday, May 30 Connecticut Tree Climbing Competition at Lighthouse Point Park
