Exploring Nature Open House
Event time
On November 5, the Exploring Nature program will launch with an Open House at the East Rock Ranger Station from 10 am to 2 pm.
- 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. – Tour the newly renovated Ranger Station over mulled cider and doughnuts and live music provided by Monk Youth Jazz.
- 11 a.m. – Welcome led by Mayor Elicker and representatives from each of the East Rock Ranger Station non-profit partners: Exploring Nature’s URI/FERP/FHCHC team leaders and Monk Youth Jazz and STEAM Collective leaders
- 11:30 a.m. – Lunch catered by Koffee (provided by FERP member Duncan Goodall and FERP donors)
- 12:15 p.m. – Magic Show with Cyril the Sorcerer (30-minute show followed by the signing of wizardly certificates for the kids)
- 1 p.m. – Hike for Health with FHCHC volunteers

Exploring Nature program details: FERP leadership team members will host an Open House from 10 am to 2 pm on the first Saturdays of the month. FHCHC volunteers will lead a Hike for Health for youth and their families on Tuesdays at 3pm. URI staff and Yale students will lead environmental educational programming and service activities on Thursdays and Saturdays. Cyril the Sorcerer will lead environmental, empowerment, and family-based magic shows with themes such as water, recycling, wilderness, and climate on some Saturdays.
