Summary

Once fenced off by the Department of Transportation, Mulberry Jam is a small yet charming vacant lot that was restored by a group of visionary and hard working volunteers. Its name comes from the Mulberry tree, which provides shade for the park and produces berries that attract birds, squirrels, and people. Throughout their years as a Greenspace group, Mulberry Jam has transformed this site by planting trees and perennials, as well as adding picnic tables, lighting, and gabion box benches. This year, its fifth as part of Greenspace, the group dedicated four workdays to the site, the first for weeding, the second for watering, the third for planting, and the fourth for mulching. During these workdays, we stewarded the site while also continuing to beautify it by adding more colorful plants and mulch. We also added a new tree to Bradley Street, continuing to provide more shade and beauty for the neighborhood. The group also continued to build and strengthen the community, encouraging all of Bradley Street to come help and enjoy the park!
