Summary
This was the Atwater and Pine group's 11th year in the program. Having started by renovating a vacant lot into a community park, the group has since expanded to planting street trees. The group is led by a group of committed community members. This year the group extended farther out into the neighborhood and started working with their neighbors on Clinton Ave. Together they planted 11 trees along Atwater St and Clinton Ave. In addition, the neighborhood joined together to plant 3 trees for the members of the Atwater Senior Center to enjoy throughout the year. With much enthusiasm and momentum throughout the summer, the group hopes to continue its work to beautify the neighborhood by focusing on restoring the vacant lot on Pine and Atwater.
