Summary

The longest active Community Greenspace group came back for yet another season of community building, environmental rehabilitation, and stewardship! Over the last 25 years, the Arch St Community Greenspace group has planned, organized, and mobilized around the common goal of creating a safe and open neighborhood park for all community members to enjoy. Some years have been more active than others and the space has gone through different stages of repair and disrepair. This year, inspired by the memory of what once was and the promise of what could be, volunteers gathered at the park to continue realizing their vision. The park was given much needed maintenance in the form of weeding, mowing, pruning, and mulching, and new perennials were planted in the restored spaces. Despite the late start to the season, a renewed atmosphere of hope has been created around the greenspace, and residents are eager to continue to give it use throughout the rest of the year.
