Summary
Bradley Street continues to be one of the most successful emeritus Greenspace groups when it comes to community building, engagement, and outreach. Despite starting late in the season, group leader Michael Smart once again led an amazing effort to weed, spread mulch, and plant more perennials. This year, the group continued to attract new volunteers in addition to retaining past volunteers. The group started their summer work by removing weeds which had overgrown the streetscape garden since last year. Following weeding, the group spread about 16 yards of pine bark mulch to beautify and decrease future weed growth. The group planted four maiden grasses as well, which they fertilized with about half a yard (two bags) of compost. The group is continuing maintenance/stewardship activities in August, and possibly beyond that if they can maintain their great community engagement!
