Summary
Cedar Hill is a community nestled by the slopes of East Rock Park. The Cedar Hill Greenspace group, led by three tremendous women, has helped transform and beautify streets, corners, medians, and open space throughout the neighborhood. This year the group came together and continued the stewardship efforts to maintain these splashes of green and color. The final weeks of the summer were spent tending and planting in the View St. playground, which overlooks a forested bend in the Mill River and Rice Field. Joined by neighborhood children and the youth at work interns of Friends of East Rock Park (FERP), this small playground was planted with a variety of native perennials and flowering bushes to attract wildlife to its edge.
