Summary
Kenya, Ms. Betty Thompson, and their dedicated family have completed another wonderful year of stewardship for their beautiful Cedar Hill neighborhood. We started the year off working at Garden 219, where we crafted a vision for a new sign to prevent litter and trash accumulation in the garden. We then moved on up to the playground, where we weeded and mulched. Many children at the park also helped paint the the two trash cans and pocket library. Thanks to the help of Emerge and Friends of East Rock Park, we didn’t have to do much weeding at Betty’s Median, so we mulched it and moved on to the Rock St. Corner. Even though the corner didn't receive stewardship last year, it looked wonderful thanks to its strategic design and ground cover that prevented invasive growth. On our final day we had a wonderful convening of old friends to help out with mulching the triangle - what a great season! And as a mini-celebration, the Cedar Hill family installed the new 2x3 no dumping sign at Garden 219 before we were off for the URI Bus tour.
