Summary
The Chatham Square Neighborhood Association Greenspace spent the summer focusing on lead remediation projects. After doing outreach, four yards were identified as possible projects and three of those yards were completed. Each week, community members volunteered their time to help remediate and beautify yards with high levels of lead. The remediations consisted of removing contaminated soil and replacing it with fresh soil, bringing in new shrubs, and planting beautiful perennials. After each meeting, there was food, drinks, and conversation to celebrate the work that had been done to make the neighborhood safer.
