Summary
Chatham Square is one of the oldest still active Greenspace groups. A long-time dedicated group of neighbors, their commitment to the restoration and continued stewardship of the park is remarkable. The group's impact over the years can be seen in the now-adolescent trees that line the park as well as the lush center garden that acts as its anchor. This summer the group continued to replace trees in the park to ensure abundant shade and clean air for park-goers in the years ahead. Additionally, they provided care and protection to older trees by pruning, mulching and watering as necessary. The group also planted several flowering trees this season to bring more visual interest and color to the park in addition to providing a fruit-source for birds. It was a fun and productive season with a total of seven new trees added to the park.
