Summary
This group at the Newhall Gardens Senior living complex is in its second year as a Greenspace. Meeting each Wednesday morning this summer, they planted new colorful perennials, evergreen shrubs, and a linden tree. They also spent many hours weeding, pruning, raking, and watering. The senior residents engaged with teens from Newhallville Ambassadors and a young family from Watson street to accomplish their beautification goals. The tree planting would not have been feasible without the hard work of the Ambassadors. Moreover, the project was a success in bringing together community members of various ages (from 3 to 86 years old) to work toward a common goal, to learn from each other, and to get to know one another.
