Summary
The Morris Cove Planters Greenspace group has been part of URI's Greenspace program for six years and has planted roughly 40 trees. The group, which began by maintaining the Pardee Seawall Park has grown to plant trees per request throughout the neighborhood. The core members of the group are committed neighbors who come together and always encourage and welcome new hands on deck. This year, the group planted eight street trees through local neighbor requests, always with a high level of attendance, enthusiasm and enjoyment. The group helped weed and mulch at Pardee Seawall and Lighthouse Point Park, while also maintaining several bare root trees they had planted last summer. In celebration, the group met on the last day of the summer for a delightful barbecue at John and Katha Cox's home.
