Summary
In their first year, the Edgewood Skatepark very clearly demonstrated their commitment and love for this space. They set out to add shade to the park and more fruiting trees, as well as increasing the overall aesthetic of the skating area. The high capacity of this group allowed them to accomplish all of those goals, plus often planting more than one tree per workday. Despite many of the volunteers having little gardening or planting experience, they were fast learners and persevered through any challenges. The progress they made this summer has transformed the skatepark and will continue to do so as these trees and plants grow in the coming years.
