Summary
2011 marks the second year that Fair Haven Neighbors in Action has been working along the streetscape in the section of Fair Haven bounded by Ferry, Saltonstall, Blatchley, and Exchange. This year, the group energetically continued its work planting street trees and perennials, bringing much needed shade to their streets and adding beauty and intrigue with flowering plants. Their work on Exchange Street required the removal of sidewalks to make way for street trees - a truly heroic effort in the heat of the summer. Together the group planted four shade trees and five smaller flowering specimens, including several crabapples, a pair of sweetgum, two oaks, and a kousa dogwood.
