Summary
This summer, and all throughout the past year, the Friends of Fairmont Park focused their efforts on removing invasive species along the edges of the park. Working diligently, they managed to clear out large swaths of burning bush, bittersweet, Japanese honeysuckle, and mugwort, making way for the exciting part of the season—planting dozens of new shrubs to create a new understory made up of native plants, many of which would be enticing to the variety of wildlife species found in the park!
