Summary
This is the fourth year for Friends of City Point/Hallock & First as a Greenspace Group. This year they had a high goal of planting street trees along several blocks of the neighborhood in efforts of revitalization. They succeeded by replacing one tree on Second Street at the corner of Howard Ave, planting three trees on Second Street at the corner of Hallock Ave, planting three trees along Hallock Ave between Second and Third Street, and planting six trees along Third Street between Greenwich and Howard Avenues. In total the group planted 13 trees in the neighborhood with opportunities for several more next summer. To finish the trees, the group planted perennials around the trunks of new and existing nearby trees. The group saw consistent interest from adults and children for both perennial and tree planting.
