Summary

Although this is the Friends of Fort Wooster’s first summer as a Greenspace group, a group of dedicated volunteers has been working on improving the park for almost a decade. This summer, a great deal of work was done on the trails—probably dozens of yards of woodchips were spread, over hundreds of square feet of cardboard laid down to help prevent weed growth. The group also planted some shrubs and flowers around the flagpole and up on the fort, and began to tackle the enormous task of developing a plan to manage the forest at Fort Wooster Park.
