Goatville Food Forest

2026 Greenspace Report

For its second year as a community greenspace, the Goatville Food Forest continues to transform into a native pollinator oasis! This summer, the group worked hard to continue removing many invasives in the area and redefining the trees and shrubs planted last summer. They also added two new trees, eight shrubs, and many native flowering perennials to continue expanding the forest. The food forest has become a staple in the neighborhood, and many neighbors can be found wandering through the paths of the food forest with their dogs and snacking on serviceberries, mulberries, and blueberries from the food forest!

2026 Accomplishments

• 2 trees planted (2 multistem serviceberries)
• 8 shrubs planted (2 witch hazel, 6 winterberry)
• 6 perennials planted (3 beebalm, 3 joe pye weed)
• 1.0 yards compost spread
• 5.0 yards mulch spread
• 7 events
• 9 volunteers
• 49 volunteer hours
