Summary

Historically, a few people that live in the buildings adjacent to the park have maintained the flowers at the memorial in Griswold Park. The Friends of Griswold Park Greenspace group was formed in the summer of 2010 because that group wanted to do more to beautify the park for area residents and traffic at the park's busy intersection. This summer the group continued tree planting with a focus on the front half of the triangle park. They planted two small flowering trees with interesting reddish foliage (a crabapple and a cherry), and one flowering shade tree with large, beautiful leaves (Catalpa). The group also extended the perennial bed that was created last year by planting durable shrubs to clearly define the space.
