Summary

Traditionally, a few people living close to the city owned Griswold Park have taken care of the grass and grounds. The local Greenspace group, formed in 2010, has transformed the park from a grass field with several shade trees to a beautiful garden with a welcoming grove of new trees and plants for neighbors to enjoy. In the summer of 2013, the group planted a Norway spruce, a Fat Albert Spruce, and a Golden Chain tree to help encircle and border the central Veteran's war memorial. The group also planted several perennials and butterfly bushes, mulched the beds and officially put their name to the park with a new Greenspace sign.
