Summary

The Little Nash community group has a number of wonderfully enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers. The Group consistently begins its work evenings with a small picnic, and focuses efforts in areas centered near State Street in East Rock. This season the group decided to adopt the Memorial Dog Park between Lawrence and State. Efforts began by refurbishing the front garden near the memorial plaque. We were able to transform the space into a well maintained set of perennial beds that help establish the park as a point of area pride. Group members also came together to plant a tree in the open space near the Lawrence Street park entrance. This project was an additional boost to the area, and something about which all participants are immensely proud. We rounded out the year with a small craft project to put a finishing touch of character on the park fence. Overall, Little Nash is a vibrant group with wonderful goals of community engagement and commitment to the neighborhood.
