Summary
Friends of Monitor Square is an emeritus Greenspace group led by two very dedicated and capable members of the West River community. This summer, the group’s main focus was stewardship activities (e.g., weeding, spreading mulch and compost, picking up trash, etc.). However, they also planted some more perennials to restore tree pits and the circle/monument garden. New Haven Parks assisted the group’s efforts by getting a water meter installed so they would have access to water on site throughout the summer months.
