Summary
This is the second year of the Peace Garden Community Greenspace group. The group was formed in order to get the weeds of the existing garden under control and to replant parts of it to make it more manageable and attractive. The group continued with the same goals this year since weeds had started overtaking the garden again by the beginning of the summer. The Peace Garden group remained a small group this year, but worked diligently on removing weeds - especially from among the ornamental grasses. They also spread nearly ten yards of mulch around the bed. The group also planted some spirea to add more color and filled in the bed of Russian sage. The Peace Garden is a beautiful beacon for the International Day of Peace in September.
