Summary
This summer our main activity was weeding throughout the space, especially near the entrances to Beaver Pond which is where the Oasis is situated. Due to a low volunteer turn out not we did not get to put in many new plants, but the impact of weeding around the newer trees and along the forest tree line was noticeable. This site holds a lot of potential to become a neighborhood gem with if there was enough care and interest from the community. Neighborhood Housing Services also worked on the site throughout the summer, utilizing various volunteer groups such as Hopkins High School Students and members of Bike and Build. They were able to weed and create a path stretching the whole length of the greenspace, laying down cardboard and mulch to help prevent future weeds.
