Summary
Troup Group began the year with outreach and streetscape stewardship, which included the planting of a number of yuccas on the curb strip along Beers Street. Weeding and mulching were also completed here. The first big project the group undertook was cleanup and restoration of two tree bases by the corner store on Edgewood and Platt Streets. This effort magically improved the aesthetics of the area, and the owner of the store was very positive about achieving this goal, and has maintained both areas well. Troup Group also planted a Hawthorn Winter King in front of 36 Beers Street, adding contrast to the local flora. Finally, they maintained the garden area in the lot behind the corner store, worked on planting some rose bushes and phlox in a front yard, and installed a Greenspace Sign at Edgewood and Beers Streets, which lies at the entrance to the yucca and Hawthorn streetscape.
