Summary
Troup Group entered this season with the same level of enthusiasm from years prior. With over 15 seasons under its belt, Troup Group was engaged to plant more trees, perennials, and reach out to more neighbors. Beers Street, which is at the heart of the group, was already a flourishing green streetscape. Young cherry trees lined the street with mature ashes and lindens to create a vibrant streetscape. The yuccas and daylilies planted in years past accented the curb strips between each tree. This season, the group continued to work between Chapel and Edgewood, but also looked one block north where they could continue to make a positive impact. By the end of the season, Troup Group incorporated members from the local church and established the beginnings of what will become a comprehensive transformation of the entire stretch of Beers Street.
