Summary

Truman St. Greenspace Group worked this year to introduce a new flower garden to their garden. The lot is unique among greenspaces in that it is one of the few places that combines greenspace work with urban farming. They have several raised beds for neighbors to come and grow vegetables, and they are situated in a large lot in which the greenspace group has been working for several years to create a beautiful and vibrant community space. Volunteers were able to work on creating the new flower bed, mulching several other beds, and laying down new stone dust so that the entrance path is a welcoming invitation into this wonderful space. At the end of the season the group hosted an end of summer barbeque to celebrate the work accomplished throughout the summer, thus highlighting the success of the space as a community building environment.
