Summary

The Truman Street community garden was started by volunteer, Leslie Radcliffe, in order to bring people in her neighborhood together through gardening. To these ends they had an amazing Summer this year. Leslie and co-leader, Mimi, consistently got children from the community to show up and volunteer each week. The multigenerational volunteers were great at cooperating in order to restore the space. Planting was always a great opportunity for children to see insects in the soil, learn a love of nature and engage with each other. The group made real progress this year in transforming the former vacant lot into a fully realized community garden.
